Enter either a valid UK Post Code, place
name, grid reference or xy coordinates into the boxes provided and
click the
button.
If the system does not recognise the information you
have input you will be prompted to try again. If you are using the
place name option it might be that the place you are looking for
is not in our database. Try to think of somewhere close by and enter
that - you can always move the centre of your map around once you
are in the right basic area. |

|
You will now be taken to
a screen which displays an image of the area you selected in Stage
2. Please note that this image uses 1:200000 mapping and does not
represent the mapping that you will receive - it is used purely
for the purpose of allowing you to set your mapping area.

Use the navigational arrows surrounding the map to nudge
the map image North, East, South or West. Clicking on the
central red dot will recenter the map image.
If you prefer you can click directly on the map image to
move the central point. |
|
Clicking on the size boxes will change
the size that the image is depicted on your screen. Please note
that this may cause a horizontal scroll bar to appear on the
browser window if your screen is not large enough to accommodate
the image. |
 |
By default the centre of the map is locked so you can browse
around the map area without changing your original selection.
You can unlock the map at any time allowing you to move the
centre of the map around via either the navigational arrows
or by clicking directly on the map image itself. |
 |
Feel free to experiment with the lock and unlock
function to nudge the centre and edges of your map to exactly
the point you want them to be.
|
|
If you change your mind about the type of mapping
you chose in stage 1, you can click the Change Mapping button
to change from OS Explorer to OS Landranger or vice versa. You
will see that the area of coverage varies enormously from one
range to another. |
|

Once you are happy with all your choices which will be displayed
in the information area below the Map Image click the
button.
You will again be shown the centre point of your map
to double check that we have the correct central point as selected
by you.
You now need to decide whether you want your map flat
or folded. (flat maps are supplied rolled in a tube and can be displayed
on the wall in schools, offices, local organisations or given as
a gift to someone with an interest in a particular area).

If you wish you can choose from the gallery of photographs for the front cover of your map.

You can also specify a title and subtitle for your map - these will
appear where indicated in the example to the left.
Next specify the number of maps centred on this area that you would like to purchase. (You can go
through the selection process and add different maps as many times as you wish.
Click on the
when you have completed your choices. |

Put your feet up...your
OS Select Map will be in the post within 5 working days.
