David Hempleman-Adams MBE,
Britain's Greatest Living
January 5 1996 David became the first Briton to walk solo
and unsupported to the South Pole. And later, on February
19, he sailed to the South Magnetic Pole, becoming the first
person to achieve both South Poles in the same year.
On May 15 1996 he led the Ultimate Challenge,
a team of novices, to ski to the Magnetic North Pole, gaining
some notable firsts. Thus, he became the only person ever
to reach both North and South Magnetic Poles in one year.
Before embarking on these historic journeys David requested
specially produced maps coated with Aqua3 laminate which are
famous for their incredibly rugged qualities. Obviously we
were happy to oblige and are proud to be associated with David
and to have been part of these fantastic achievements.
David kindly found the time to thank us by sending the following

then subjected it to two five minute 800 rpm spins. He was impressed
to find that our product was unharmed by this punishment
"Just a note to say many thanks for sending
the maps to school so quickly. My bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award

"I am able to say that having tried most
of the 'waterproof' map protections on the market I much prefer
the AQUA3...This map has paid for itself ten times over and is still
in good condition" Dave Cammish
"I have returned from a long distance walk
through France along part of the Grande Route No. 5. They worked
perfectly for me and met the requirements of waterproofing, handling
and hard wear" Roy Stewart
